Edi Rama biography
Edi Rama (born Edvin Kristaq Rama on July 4, 1964 in Tirana, Albania) is the Prime Minister of Albania and the leader of the Socialist Party of Albania, a political party that has won all five Albanian elections since 2013 (two local elections and three parliamentary elections) and is the only Albanian Prime Minister to have won three parliamentary elections in a row. Rama is one of the initiators of the Mini Schengen Zone, an economic zone of the Western Balkans countries intended to guarantee "European Single Market". He was first elected Mayor of Tirana in 2000, and was reelected in 2003 and 2007. In 2013, the coalition of center-left parties led by Rama won the 2013 Albanian parliamentary election, defeating the center-right coalition of Democratic Party of Albania's incumbent Prime Minister, Sali Berisha.
