El Chavo del 8 biography
El Chavo (also known as El Chavo del Ocho during its earliest episodes) is a Mexican television sitcom created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, produced by Televisa and first aired on the Televisión Independiente de México (TIM) network on February 26, 1973, after which it became a weekly half-hour series, which ran until 1980, but was re-runs on the Televisa Network and Televisa Network Mexico until 1992, when it was replaced by a spin-off, El Chavo Jr., produced by Televisa, that aired on the Televisa Network Mexico and Televisa Network Mexico with the same stars and crew as the original El Chavo, but without the original voice actor of Gómez Bolaños, because Televisa did not want to give the original El Chavo, played by Roberto Gómez Bolaños
