Linkin Park biography
Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California in 1996. The band's current lineup comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, DJ/turntablist Joe Hahn, and drummer Rob Bourdon, all of whom are founding members. Former members include bassist Kyle Christner and vocalists Mark Wakefield and Chester Bennington.
Linkin Park controversies
In 2015, Linkin Park faced backlash for their collaborative album with rapper Jay-Z, titled 'Collision Course'. Many longtime fans felt that the collaboration was a departure from the band's rock roots, and saw it as a sellout move to gain popularity. Others defended the album, saying that it was a creative expression and a way for the band to explore new sounds. Another controversy arose in 2017, when Chester Bennington, the band's lead vocalist, died by suicide. Fans were devastated by the loss, and some even blamed the band's music for contributing to Bennington's mental illness and eventual death. However, the band and Bennington's family members urged fans not to assign blame, and to remember the late singer for his talent and contributions to music.
