My Chemical Romance (often shortened to MCR or abbreviated to My Chem) is an American alternative rock band that formed in Newark, New Jersey in 2002 by Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro, and Matt Pelissier with the release of their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, which was certified triple platinum in the United States, and their second album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, which was certified double platinum in the United States and double platinum in the United Kingdom. The band's current lineup consists of Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Frank Iero, and Matt Pelissier (with the addition of touring keyboardist James Dewees), with Gerard Way playing lead guitar, Mikey Way playing rhythm guitar, and Frank Iero playing bass guitar. After the departure of long-time drummer Bob Bryar in March 2010, the band replaced Bryar on tour with drummers including Michael Ped
