Tame Impala biography

Tame Impala is an Australian rock band formed in Perth in 2007 by Kevin Parker (guitar, vocals), Dominic Simper (guitar, synthesiser), Jay Watson (synthesiser, vocals, guitar), Cam Avery (bass guitar, vocals), and Julien Barbagallo (drums, vocals). The group has a close affiliation with fellow Australian psychedelic rock band Pond (Australian band), sharing members and collaborators, including Nick Allbrook, formerly a live member of Tame Impala. At the 2020 ARIA Music Awards the group won five trophies, including ARIA Award for Best Rock Album and ARIA Award for Album of the Year, and Parker won the APRA Awards (Australia) for Song of the Year 2016 for Currents first track, "Let It Happen (song)". Tame Impala's third album, Currents (Tame Impala album), was released in July 2015, and like its predecessor, it was certified gold in Australia
