Tôn Ngộ Không biography
The Monkey King, also known as Sun Wukong (Chinese: ç 1\/4 ç 1\/4, Pinyin: Xà ngjà nà n), is a legendary mythical figure best known as one of the main characters in the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West (/) and many later stories and adaptations. The story takes place after the Buddha, Gautama Buddha, dies and his disciples go on a journey to the Western Regions (the Indian subcontinent), where Buddha and his followers reside. On their way, they meet Sun Wukong, a monkey born from a stone who acquires supernatural powers through Taoist practices, including the ability to make copies of himself and the ability to change into various animals and objects, and is able to support the weight of two celestial mountains on his shoulders while running "with the speed of a meteor", and can stop people in place with fixing magic.
