XL Recordings biography

XL Recordings is a British independent record label founded in 1989 by Tim Palmer and Nick Halkes and is run and co-owned by Richard Russell (XL Recordings) since 1996. It forms part of the Beggars Group. XL has worked with artists such as Adele, Azealia Banks, Beck, Dizzee Rascal, Gil Scott-Heron, The Horrors, The Horrors, Yaeji, Jai Paul, Jungle (band), King Krule, Lemon Jelly, M.I.A. (artist), Nines (rapper), Peaches (musician), The Prodigy, Vampire Weekend, The White Stripes, Tyler, the Creator, Sigur Rós, and The xx, although only releasing an average of six albums a year.
